Shop drawings and detailing

Fabrication and erection drawings for steel and other trades, built from the engineering model and checked before we release them.

Overview

What this covers.

Shop drawings turn a design into parts that crews can make and build. We detail from the engineering model, and we check every drawing against the design before we release it.

A shop drawing is our last chance to catch a design error before anyone builds it.

FAQ

Common questions.

What do you detail from?

The structural design drawings and model. If we also engineered the structure, we detail directly from our own model.

What software do you use?

We detail in Revit, and we work with Tekla models where the project calls for them. We confirm the exact tools at the start.

Do you follow our standards?

Yes. Drawing formats, marks and naming follow your standards, or the fabricator’s.

How do you check the drawings?

Every set goes through our author, checker and approver review before we release it.

Can you handle revisions?

Yes. We track revisions on the drawings and in the transmittal, so nothing is ambiguous.

Have a project on the board?

Send us the scope and we will come back with a quote, or start with a free pilot package.
