Foundation and retaining wall design

We design foundations, retaining walls and equipment pads, sized for your loads and your site conditions.

Overview

What this covers.

Everything above ground depends on what happens below it. We design the foundations, walls and pads that carry your loads into the ground, and we give you calculations and details your contractor can build from.

A good foundation is the part of the building nobody sees, and everybody relies on.

Scope

Spread and strip footings

Footings sized for the loads and the soil information you give us.

Slabs on grade

Piers and grade beams

Deep and tied foundation elements where the site calls for them.

Retaining walls

Cantilever, gravity and segmental walls designed for the retained height and loads.

Equipment pads

FAQ

Common questions.

What information do you need to start?

The architectural and structural layouts, the loads, and the geotechnical report if you have one. Tell us what you have and we will say what is missing.

Who stamps the drawings?

Designs are reviewed and stamped by licensed US Professional Engineers where required. We confirm stamp requirements at scoping.

Do you design retaining walls on their own?

Yes. We take on retaining walls as a standalone package or as part of a full site and structure design.

Can you coordinate with the civil design?

Yes. Grading, drainage and walls are coordinated so they work together on site.

How do you quote this work?

By scope and number of elements. Tell us about the project and we will put a quote together.

Have a project on the board?

Send us the scope and we will come back with a quote, or start with a free pilot package.
