Data center engineering

Structural and site engineering for data center buildings and campuses, designed around repeatable bays and tight schedules.

Overview

What this covers.

Data centers are heavy, repetitive and run to tight schedules. We engineer the structure and the site together, so the design repeats cleanly from one building to the next and the documents stay consistent.

When a design repeats across a campus, every small mistake repeats with it. So we check it once, properly.

Scope

Scope of work.

Structural framing

Steel and concrete systems for large-span halls and support buildings.

Equipment loads

Framing and slabs designed around heavy, concentrated equipment.

Foundations and slabs

Foundations sized for your site conditions and the loads they carry.

Site grading and drainage

Large pads, stormwater management and access roads.

Utility coordination

Site utility routes that line up with the building and the campus layout.

Repeatable design packages

Typical details and sheet sets that you can reuse across phases.

Deliverables

Typical deliverables.

  • 01Structural calculation packages
  • 02Framing and foundation plans
  • 03Grading and drainage plans
  • 04Typical detail libraries
  • 05Revit structural models
  • 06Coordination exhibits for MEP and architectural teams

How we deliver

Four steps, the same on every project.

  1. 1

    Brief

We review your scope, drawings and deadline.

  2. 2

    Pilot

We deliver one package free so you can judge the work.

  3. 3

    Quality check

We check every deliverable before it reaches you.

  4. 4

    Delivery

You receive drawings, models and calculations, ready to use.

Sectors served

Where this work applies.

Data centers

Single buildings and multi-phase campuses.

Buildings

Support, office and utility buildings on the same site.

Civil and site

Pads, roads, stormwater and utility corridors.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do you handle both the building and the site?

Yes. One engineering team coordinates the structural and civil design, so the building and the site meet cleanly.

Can you design for repeated phases?

Yes. We build typical details and models, so later phases reuse what we already coordinated.

Who stamps the drawings?

Designs are reviewed and stamped by licensed US Professional Engineers where required. We confirm stamp requirements at scoping.

How do you coordinate with MEP?

We share models and exhibits with the MEP team and resolve conflicts in the model, before they reach the site.

How do you quote a data center project?

By scope and by phase. Tell us about the building and the site, and we will put a quote together.

Have a project on the board?

Send us the scope and we will come back with a quote, or start with a free pilot package.
